BLUE JOURNEY - THE WEST ROUTE |
|
One early morning at dawn, you will set off
from Marmaris.
The sun will rise not only from one place. It will rise from and with in
sea and behind the hills. You will then reach Madrigal, the small port which
is crystallized and peaceful. It is ideal for diving fans. After wards,
you proceed to the Kailua or Catlike, its glittering bay.
When you reach the Bozukkale fortress, its 9 towers are still standing. No
boats in the course of Blue Journey ever pass Bozukkale without stopping. If
you are keen on photographs, this place is just for you. You then continue
your journey leaving the Sogut Island on your left / right. When night is
covering the blue sky you reach Bozburun. An immaculate, spotless place in a
tiny harbor. A quiet evening filled with the songs of the sea for moonlight.
With the arrival of morning comes time to leave Bozburun, and you
will have breakfast on board with freshly backed smoldering bread.
While the sun is playing around with you thoughts, you will slowly fall in
love with your surroundings. When you enter the Dirsek Bay, you can enjoy a
long swim. Seeing the brilliance of the sea, you can not way resist the
temptation.
On the way to Selimiye Village, you will great the fishermen and select
fresh fish. The Uzun, Koca and Kemeriye islands follow...
Karabuk, and Turgut villages are located on route. Soon, you face Lodos(the
most suitable place to stay overnight). You can sit in a bar at sea-side
refreshing yourself, or if you wish you can remain on the boat and
listen to the music coming from outside.. In the morning, you set off again
before daybreak or with the rising of the sun at the latest. Seeing
Baybassos, there is also an antique city, here.
At the setting of the sun, you will be anchoring in Catlike Bay. Here, the
Aegean and the Mediterranean coming together. Some are too lazy to climb
and experience the magnificent view of two separate seas of the ancient
civilization. If your guide says that you still have time, do not miss it.
How many people can see this enchanting sunset, both in the Aegean and
Mediterranean simultaneously. In the evening, you will reach Datca. An
important stop over. Showers are taken, food boxes are prepared and ice
boxes refreshed with reflections on the water coming from bars located in
Datca Harbor.
In the morning, departing from Datca you will head for Kocaburun and then
Kargi. If the weather allows you can swim in this bay. And then comes
Carian capital antique Cnidos ! It strikes your eyes with two antique
wave breakers and its ancient theater on the
hills. While strolling around the three magnificent rocks , night begins
stretching into sea. Either Kormen or Mersincik bay will
provide you with overnight accommodation.
At day break, you will be living in a dream world of the sun splendid
colors; dark green forests, golden sandy beaches and a dark blue sea...
Today's program is going to be last chance for those who haven't seen where
the Aegean and Mediterranean coming together. This is called the Bordubet
paradise. This location which remains between the Balikasiran and Becik Bay
is the narrowest part of the Datca Peninsula. After a walk you can enjoy the
remarkable wives of two ancient seas coming together...
Yedi Adalar is a location which became popular in the last few years. If
you feel it crowded, you can still move to a desolate place to spend the
night.
The very next day, your stop is Ballisu and Longoz Buku. On the other hand,
Sogut is another stop where you can taste the delicious food at the taverns
on the shore. The environment is knitted with "Gunnuk", pine, laurel and
pink oleander trees.
From there on, you will follow the Cape of Domuz and find yourself at the
unique Cleopatra Island and beach which is famous for its white and fine
organic sand that have been brought for her from the Delta of Nile, from
Egypt. You must not miss the chance of seeing the amphitheater , the temple
and the ruins of the famous tower. This area was known as Cedrai in in
the early ages, and is now called Sedir.
You are now following the route to Bodrum(Halicarnassus) on the Gokova Bay.
On the way, you have the chance for fishing. Gokova, which is the most
shallow water in the region, will attach you and your group into its own
atmosphere.
Cakal Bay, ruins of Keramos and Akbuk are some of the places to see. In
addition, you will enjoy Oren, Cokertme, Orak Island,
Kargacik Buku and Karaada... Far out on the horizon you will see the
crystal silhouette of Bodrum, the ancient Halicarnassus and as day becomes
night a truly remarkable sight...
That is the end of Journey ! You will never notice how quickly you left
behind all the routine stress of daily life and become once
again rejuvenated...

JOURNEY - THE EAST ROUTE
Another history, another nature and another
Blue Journey. Now our route is to Antalya;
One morning , you will leave Marmaris Bay sailing from Keci, Berdir and
Nimara islands. You will stop at Turunc where you will find a beautiful and
crystal like water.
After you leave Yilancik island, your first stop will be Ekincik bay. This
will be your first archaeological site tour; Caunos, is the name of
historical ancient center. The motorboats will take you from the Gulet and
will bring you to the Delta of Dalyan. The delta which connects Koycegiz
lake to the Mediterranean is the home of famous sea turtles
Caretta-Carreta, and considered as a historical treasure. You will enjoy the
unique wives from the top of the acropolis of Caunos. Moreover, you will see
the amphitheater, Byzantium Basilica, the Roman Bath, and the Vespasianus
Fountain.
Following this trip into history on the delta you will pass the Lycian
rock toms, you can then eat at a fish restaurant in the charming village of
Dalyan.
Your next stop will be Fethiye. But on your way to Fethiye, you will come
across a beautiful island: Baba island... After passing thru the Kurtoglu
Cape and around the Peksimet island, you enter to the Gulf of Fethiye.
You are now in the most interesting part of this gulf, which is also
suitable for anchoring. As the sunken ruins evoke undefined sensations,
you will find yourself traveling thru the time. Metallic grey stones and
rocks are placed under the blue water since thousands of years. The ancient
ruins which are hardly visible surround the bay covered by pine trees.
Another fabulous bay is Gocek, then you can visit Tersane
island..."Telmessos" and later "Makri" are the ancient names of today's
Fethiye which was the first big of Lycia, where you also find the very
characteristics of this region. The tombs themselves carved in rocks tell
you the entire history...
The new morning, you will be heading south. First St.Nicolos Island, and
then reaching Olu Deniz, the famous Dead Sea or "Blue Lagoon"!
Along route, you pass by the capes of Sahin and Iblis, you will reach
a derelict church rambling thru bushes following the
mosaic ruins. It is not yet possible to obtain information about this
island where St.Nicholos once lived. The rest remains with your
imagination.
You will visit the Dead Sea(Blue Lagoon). This magnificent wives will be
engraved upon your
Some excitement will do you good when you find yourselves on the
stretch of beaches of the ancient city Patara. You then go to Kalkan...
Kalkan is worth visit. Besides, this is the best access to the ancient
Lucian cities Cantos, Elton and Tatars. For Balkan, your Gullet will anchor
in Dumas bay, where you will spend the night. You will have a chance of
visiting these three historical centers.
Then your way is to another paradise, Kas; one of the most beautiful harbor
of the Teke Peninsula. Its amphitheater, necropolis, rock tombs and
sarcophagus are magical... Again, the call of history and the wonders of
nature !
Bayindir Bay is located across the town of Kass, and it is suitable for
staying overnight.
With the arrival of morning, you will approach Kekova. If it is your
first visit, you will not want to part with Kekova leaving thousands of
memories behind.
Another location with in the region is the city of St.Nicholos: Demre which
will reappear Before your eyes leaving Kekova behind...
You start for Finike where water, ice and food supplies will be renewed,
a town among the fruit and vegetable gardens. History also left its traces
here.
And then comes the last stop of this Blue Journey, Antalya: the gateway to
the ancient Panfilian cities Termessos, Perge, Aspendos, Side and Alanya...
All along you have been the guest of the history, nature, sea and sun of the
Mediterranean!
